Introduction

This is an introductory lesson for a unit on plants. It would be the first of a series of lessons that would center around the book, Tops and Bottoms by Janet Stevens. This unit could be 1 to 2 weeks and would include experiments in growing plants.

Learning Objectives

  • The learner will recognize and identify the structure of plants, including roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits.
  • The learner will be able to illustrate and describe the life cycle of a plant.
